On Blogging and Writing
Here's the thing with blogging; you win some, or you lose some, subscribers that is. A certain post might draw in a lot of readers and net you new subscribers. Then another post will see you shed some of those subscribers. You can never make everyone happy with your writing, heck, you can never make everyone around you happy in real life. Everyone has their own preferences and everyone has their own beliefs. What delights one person, pushes away another.
As a writer though, I believe you have to stick with your principles and beliefs. I'd rather subscribe to someone who writes with conviction and stays true to their beliefs, than to someone who jumps all over the place trying to satisfy everyone just to get more subscribers.
Don't worry about losing readers and subscribers. Worry about the message you are trying to convey. Over time, like minded people will find your writings and subscribe. The subscribers you lost? Well they're not the people your writings were meant to reach. Maybe in the future they will come back, maybe they will not. But it doesn't matter and that should not stop you from writing with the same passion and conviction that made you start a blog in the first place.
